Refit corner

While TRO 3050U updated many designs to total warfare specs, many of the original designs got left out. So, ive come up with the Icon Series, the mechs that you really only associate with one House. I’ve upgraded these classic mechs with a TW bent, though I tried to keep them close to their original state, no XL engines, similar firepower, just better, like using MMLs and LACs. You’ll also see slightly older weapons, like MRMs and RACs show up every once and awhile as well. Exact descriptions coming soon.

Chicago, what a place!

Posted by wars128 on May 8, 2008

Chicago has been great. I’ve been to two museums so far, one that had an old WWII era captured german submarine. It was huge!!!! It wieghed 740 tons, which makes those 300 ton limit for combat subs look tiny! I am used to seeing WWII era subs with deck guns, and was suprised to find this one armed with AA guns. Wouldn’t it be neat to have anti-submarine warefare in Battletech? Though that would be fairly complicated, it might be fun. Its fun being in such a big city, not that im from a small town or anything, but im not used to being surounded by skyscrapers nearly wherever I go. This mornign I saw a street sign that said “15 ton wieght limit”. My frist thought upon seeing it was “That sucks, you couldn’t have a mech on it.” Really, im not kidding. I guess I really am a MechHead.

Busy Busy

Posted by wars128 on May 5, 2008

You think with school having ended a little less than week ago for me that I woulnd’t be busy, but infact its the opposite. In-between unpacking, a cousins graduating from college, and an unexpected trip to chicago i’ve been swamped. Thats actually where I am right now, chicago, courtesy of a 10 hour overnight bus ride. This week look to see a new podcast episode put out, and another one soon after.

Working Man

Posted by wars128 on April 16, 2008

Well, if I pass a background check and a drug test(Which I should with flying colors. It’s not like I do necrosia or anything 🙂 ), I wil have my first job. What this means for the show:
1. Since I will be working near full time for most of the summer, expect less shows.
2. There will be a domain name.
3. I will have lots of more stuff to review!
I’m so excited!

Reflections

Posted by wars128 on April 8, 2008

Was at home watching the NCAA champinonchp game with the family, but before the game started I got to go on my old computer, which has my old mech design software on it. Sure its been transferred over to my laptop, but you can’t have an emulator running inside an emmulator, so it dosent even work on my laptop. Anyhew, I was looking at all the designs with fresh, Mega Mek battle tested eyes, and I realized, that while I may have been a bit munch with many of the designs mounting Large Pulse Lasers tied to targetting computers, Most were pretty good. Its good to know that I should be able to salvage most of the 300 or so designs on it. Not looking forward to tranferring everything though. In other news, I am on track to get a summer job, which means more BattleTech Book reviews!

According to Wikipedia:

Posted by wars128 on April 3, 2008

From wikipedia: Masakari is an ancient Japanese battle ax. That makes sense in that while axes can be very powerfull, they can be quite unwieldy to use. Sounds just like the mech, huh?

Best IS APC?

Posted by wars128 on March 3, 2008

thisthread on the official forums lends to an interesting question. i’d take out the standard APC immediately, since most BattleTech games use platoon size or bigger, they are impossible to use in things like Mega Mek. I favor IFVs over APCs but thats just me. What about you?
